We couldn't be more excited for the 2016 Mediware Conference in Orlando from Sept 14 - 16. This event will mark many firsts:
Our strategy is to continue expanding in the post-acute care space, and we especially wanted to show our growing commitment to you, our customers.
In addition, many of you have requested access to more of Mediware’s product offerings. This conference will showcase them all! We collaborate with dozens of third party partners, and we are bringing them to one venue to create a valuable experience for you.
During our Welcome Reception and meals, you will have opportunities to visit with Mediware team members from each division.
In addition, the Activity Night will provide an opportunity to visit with team members one-on-one.
This year, all groups will convene at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort on:
Thursday afternoon and most of Friday, you will break off within your individual groups. The Human & Social Services division will be housed at a nearby resort less than one mile away and will be shuttled over to the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for the group events.Viewthe division-specific agenda to learn more.
Below are answers to common conference questions you may have.
The Orlando International airport is located 18 miles from the resorts and should take no more than 30 minutes (unless you hit rush hour traffic). Cabs are available, but the super shuttle is often a cost-saver. The resorts do not offer shuttles to or from the airport.
Both resorts have parking. Daily fees range from $17 - $25. Please call the hotel for specific rates.
Both resorts advertise kid-friendly activities. The resorts are located just minutes from Disney theme parks. Please call the hotel for options and shuttle opportunities.
As part of the group rate, all guest rooms included standard Wi-Fi Internet.
No, Internet access will not be provided in the conference area or session rooms.
Some groups do offer CEUs. We can always provide a certificate of attendance listing the courses you attended if you would like to submit those courses for credit.
This varies, based on your division. The Home Care division starts pre-conference sessions Wednesday morning, as do the Human & Social Services divisions. The Rehab & Respiratory divisions will kick off events with an optional product training session Wednesday afternoon. Visit yourdivision pageto see your specific agenda.
Each division has a meal plan designed especially for its attendees that will be similar to the plan you enjoyed in 2015. All groups will be included in the Keynote and Welcome Reception Wednesday night, which includes heavy appetizers and drinks. The Activity Night Dinner takes place on Thursday night for all groups. Each group has its own activity planned. Both meals and activities were determined by your division committee.
Sessions will follow a very similar format with the exception of Thursday morning. We will have all groups at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort for sessions designed for all customers. There may be sessions hosted by one division that may pique your interest and you are welcome to attend any sessions. Visit yourdivision's pagefor the specific agenda.
You may purchase a companion packaged for our nighttime events (Welcome Reception and Activity Dinner for most; those plus Final Dinner for Rehab/Resp only). The cost is $60 per meal. Payment must be made prior to the conference for a companion guest badge to be issued. We can’t guarantee a spot once you arrive at the event as we have to provide final numbers to the resort prior to the conference start. The Hyatt can supply contact information for babysitters from an approved service.
We invite you to dress as you like. You will be sitting in a classroom for several hours, so comfortable clothing is recommended. Indoor temperatures may be cool, so we suggest a sweater or light jacket. Temperatures in Orlando during September are typically mid-80s to low 90s.
The resorts' on-site restaurants will be open during our event. Please visithttp://grandcypress.hyatt.com/en/hotel/dining.htmlfor Hyatt restaurants andhttp://www.sheratonlakebuenavistaresort.com/great-resort-diningfor Sheraton options. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance, and the resort concierge will be happy to offer suggestions.
Both venues are minutes away from the theme parks, and both resorts offer complimentary transportation to many of the Disney options as well as a few other tourist destinations in Orlando. Visit the concierge’s desk for specific shuttle times and destinations.
